How long have you been in business?
CST has been in business since May of 1989. We are in our 21st year.
What is your primary product or service?
Servicing the computer network and encompassing technology needs of Connecticut's small-to-medium sized businesses.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My brother John was involved with one of the first IBM PC's in the mid-80's called the 5150. It was a true IBM PC and had 2 5.25" floppy dirves and no hard drives. His entire life has revolved around technology and it was a clear fit. I graduated with a business degree from Western New England College and initially wanted to go to work in the sports/media industry. After my brother graduated from college 4 years later, we reconized we worked very well together and that establishing our business took two key roles; 1) the technical aspect and 2) the business/sales aspect. We both excelled at our respective sides and have been togehter ever since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Although we're a smaller IT services firm, our experience, professionalism, depth, and resources rivals many bigger firms that can't give the attention to clients like Client Server Technology can. Our staff is second to none. Our manufacturer alliances and partnerships are solid and deep. Our business practices are conservatively sound with no debt or financial business partners to answer to. Yet, I think our strongest advantage over competitors is that we really enjoy what we do which is solving our clients IT needs. From assessments and scaling growth to building and maintaining infrastructures, CST has the front and back office staff to provide an encompassing, all-in-one solution for clients ranging from 5-1000 users.
